Ray Moritz
Ray is the principal consulting arborist of UFA. Ray has provided vegetation management expertise in the Bay area for over 40 years. He has been invited to speak at conferences all over America, including for the Society of American Foresters, the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA), and many others. Ray was a featured columnist (“Ask An Arborist”) for the Home Section of the San Francisco Chronicle. Ray is a co-founder of Fire Safe Marin and has taught classes on fire hazard assessment and fire mitigation to Bay Area fire agencies since 1992. Ray has a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and graduate studies in fire ecology at the University of Minnesota.

Ben Anderson
Ben is a Board Certified Master Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA Certification #WE-10160B), an ISA Qualified Tree Risk Assessor, and a Registered Consulting Arborist with the American Society of Consulting Arborists (RCA #686). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry & Natural Resources Management at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, where he stayed on after graduating to teach plant identification. Ben's academic concentration focused on Watershed Management and Hydrology. Ben worked for Cal Fire at Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest doing timber harvest prep and public education, and as a carpenter for many years. Ben brings experience and expertise in pest and disease diagnosis, watershed management and hydrology, ESRI's ArcGIS, and construction impacts to tree health and stability.

Zach Vought
Zach is a Board Certified Master Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA Certified Arborist #WE-9995B), an ISA Qualified Tree Risk Assessor, and a Registered Consulting Arborist with the American Society of Consulting Arborists (RCA #691). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry & Natural Resources Management at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo. Zach’s academic concentration focused on Urban Forestry. While at Cal Poly, he participated in an on-campus tree planting program and received the Bartlett Tree Foundation scholarship. He has experience in residential and commercial tree care as a plant healthcare technician, foreman, and climber. As a plant healthcare technician, he gained experience in pest and disease management and fertilization techniques. Zach brings experience and expertise in plant identification, tree maintenance, and integrated pest and disease management.
